The Socialist Republic of Vietnam was once famous for the long war between the Communist North Vietnam and the American supported South Vietnam. Ultimately, the Americans were forced to leave that region and the united Vietnam emerged in 1975. Being the thirteenth largest populated country in the world, the economic growth of this war-ravaged country has been astonishing. The Red River Delta is smaller than the Mekong River Delta but more densely populated and is one of the six biosphere reserves in this country. The other five biosphere reserves are Cat Tien, Can Gio Mangrove Forest, Kien Giang, Cat Ba and Western Nghe An. Additionally, Vietnam boasts of two World Heritage Sites, the Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park and Halong Bay.
The Vinh Phuc Province with its renowned landscapes of Tay Thien, Dai Lai, Tam Dao, Thac Bac and Dam Vac is a wonderland for nature lovers. Ba Vi National Park and Cuc Phuong National Park in the capital city of Hanoi are termed as green lungs or air conditioners of the northern delta area of Vietnam. If you are a lover of birds, then one of the beautiful chill out places in Vietnam is Bac Lieu Bird Sanctuary, where even birds with wing spans of 2 meters can be seen between the months of May and October. Beach lovers will enjoy Bac My An Beach and Bai Chay Beach, with their unique landscapes. Other exquisite beaches in Vietnam, such as Bai Nam, Bai But and Bai Bac are located in the Son Tra Peninsula, where diving, fishing, swimming and boating are great relaxations. One of the special chill out spots in Vietnam is the Binh Chau Thermal Springs, consisting of many ponds and lakes that combine through an underground pool, full of healthy mineral water.
