Golden Gate Park is huge and there are tons of things to do that could take you a couple of days to get through, followed by a visit to the Haight which is a cool neighborhood with its fun pubs, restaurants and trendy boutiques. Of course a visit to San Francisco isn’t complete without a stop by the Golden Gate Bridge where you can take a walk, bike or even book a cruise that takes you under the bridge and around Alcatraz. Another fun way to spend the day alone in San Francisco is to fill it with a combination of shopping, eating and sightseeing; what could possibly be the downside? Union Square offers an upscale shopping experience with lots of fun restaurants. It’s actually blocks long so you’ll get lots of exercise, shopping and stopping for a cool drink as you wander in and out of the shops. Chinatown and North Beach are also fun places to visit, offering everything from exotic herbal shops to trendy beach shops and cafes.
